Mask- and hairdesigner
BACHELOR-PROJECT
My final exam - Bachelor-project.
Girjjatvuohta

This work was the final exam for the BA studies in Mask- and hairdesign at Høyskolen Kristiania, department Westerdals. The assignment I chose was "Design and produce one or more characters whereas you use different complex techniques in chosen media".
For this assignment the topic I chose was: "How can I as a mask- and hairdesigner produce a distinctive character with background in sámi culture and history in a new and modern way?"
The colours are chosen to tell a story, a dark and dready story about how the sámi people have experienced both oppression, racism and rebellion. I've used referances from my own sámi heritage, the history and culture to create a character many could relate to.
I've used special effects, a wig and elements of make-up and bodypaint to create a complete character. The antlers are made by me and I've also changed the forehead of the wig.
The written part of the exam got an A. Contact me by e-mail if you're interested to read my bachelor assignment. Be aware that it's written in norwegian with parts of english and sámi language.
